In Take My Breath Away, the exchange of human breath between two men is mediated by a white balloon – a shared lung. Meditative and spiritual, the act of sharing breath in this way is suggestive of a life support that animates life as much as it threatens to suffocate and choke.

The music video for Andy Rantzen’s song Wraith (2015) repurposes footage from an unused outtake of the Take My Breath Away shoot.
